Tonglampoon FA Group snapped a three-fight skid the hard way, taking a split decision over Dionatha Santos Tobias in the strawweight Muay Thai main event of ONE Friday Fights 173 on Friday, October 2 at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium.

The three-round scrap closed another Asia-primetime doubleheader at the famous venue, with ONE Fight Night 48: Erdogan vs. Elliott due back in the same ring less than a day later. For the 22-year-old Thai, the win pushed his career record to 49-15 and put him back in the conversation for a US$100,000 main-roster contract.

After a careful opening where both men respected the other’s power, Santos Tobias got going with a jab-body punch combination while Tonglampoon pressed behind chopping leg kicks and range-setting jabs. The Brazilian spent the second round climbing upstairs with straight hands after working the midsection, timed a kick catch into a four-punch burst, and forced Tonglampoon into swinging overhand rights in reply.

Round three tightened into a war. Santos Tobias, 26, leaned on his boxing and uppercuts; Tonglampoon answered with hooks to the head and body. The last minute turned into an elbow fight at close range, and a left cross from the FA Group fighter swung the closing exchanges. That late surge, and the damage that came with it, was the difference on the cards.

ONE had listed Tonglampoon against Santos Tobias among the nine bouts on the Friday Fights 173 card that followed The Inner Circle 33 earlier the same night. Santos Tobias entered with both of his prior ONE wins as finishes, including a first-round knockout of Kongpoxay PK Seanchai at Friday Fights 101; Tonglampoon arrived as a series regular with ten appearances on the weekly show.
