Six UFC contracts from Contender Series Week 7 as Degli submits Moran and Piwowarczyk stops Quissua

Six fighters left Dana White’s Contender Series Season 10, Week 7 with UFC contracts — including two who lost their fights — after a night at Meta APEX in Las Vegas on September 22, 2026 that UFC framed as part of a record-breaking season.

UFC President and CEO Dana White awarded deals to fight winners Alvi Dasuyev, Marcos Degli, Piero Guaylupo, and Damian Piwowarczyk, and also to Callum Connor and Jaden Ortega despite their losses. Simon Head’s official UFC recap with scorecards is the source for the results below.

Degli’s one-armed choke and Piwowarczyk’s late first-round stoppage

Brazilian flyweight Marcos Degli stretched his win streak to 13 fights by submitting Paris Moran with a rear-naked choke at 4:46 of Round 2. After taking Moran’s back and trying a face crank, Degli switched and forced the tap with a one-armed rear-naked choke.

Light heavyweight Damian Piwowarczyk stopped previously undefeated German Emilio Quissua by TKO (punches) at 4:55 of Round 1. A straight right put Quissua down; ground strikes followed until referee Herb Dean waved it off with five seconds left in the round.

Decisions: Dasuyev, Guaylupo, and the featured bout

Alvi Dasuyev took a welterweight unanimous decision over Jaden Ortega (30-27, 30-27, 29-28). UFC described early momentum with the Belgian’s speed and counters — including multiple knockdowns — before Ortega, from Spokane, Washington, dug in late. Both men still got UFC contracts.

Peru’s Piero Guaylupo beat England’s Callum Connor by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) in a lightweight bout between undefeated fighters that UFC said saw almost 200 significant strikes landed. Guaylupo dropped Connor in the first round; Connor’s showing was still enough for a contract of his own.

In the night’s featured middleweight bout, London-based Hungarian Norbert Novenyi Jr. defeated Theo Haig by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after a full 15 minutes that mixed early power shots, back-takes, and wrestling control. UFC’s contract list for the night did not include Novenyi.
