Natalia Silva is the new UFC women’s flyweight champion. She took a unanimous decision over Wang Cong (48-47, 48-47, 49-46) to claim the vacant title in the main event of UFC 332 on Saturday, October 3 at Delta Center in Salt Lake City.

Silva built an early lead with varied striking and movement. Wang closed the gap in the championship rounds and landed her best shots late in the fifth, but Silva kept finding the cleaner work through the finish. The judges were needed for only the third time all night. Silva moved to 9-0 in the UFC and became the fifth champion in the division’s history — the fourth woman to hold the belt.

The card had already rewritten the record books before the title fight. A run of first-round finishes pushed UFC 332 to new marks for most first-round finishes (8) and most total knockouts (11) in UFC history.

Payton Talbott stopped Deiveson Figueiredo by TKO at 2:09 of round one in the co-main. Esteban Ribovics ended King Green’s winning streak with a first-round TKO at 4:08. Roberto Soldić beat Khaos Williams by unanimous decision in his UFC debut. Roman Kopylov opened the main card by TKOing Ateba Gautier at 3:12 of round one.

On the prelims, eight of nine fights ended inside the distance. Johnny Walker knocked out Mick Parkin with a knee in his heavyweight debut. Alexander Hernandez stopped former champion Rafael dos Anjos in round two. Eric Nolan TKOed Court McGee in the third in what UFC’s prelims report called McGee’s final trip into the Octagon as he hangs up his gloves after 16 years.

The main card aired live on CBS and Paramount+ from Salt Lake City.
