Jean Silva closed Noche UFC the hard way.
After eating a right cross early and spending the first half of Round 1 without throwing a strike, the Brazilian turned the featherweight main event around at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale and finished Jose Miguel Delgado with a one-armed rear-naked choke at 2:57 of Round 3. A right hand along the fence dropped Delgado, the scramble put Silva on the back, and the choke ended it. Silva moves to 7-1 inside the Octagon with six finishes and back-to-back wins, plus Performance of the Night on the fourth annual Mexican Independence Day card.
Brandon Moreno snapped a two-fight skid in his first Noche UFC appearance, taking a split decision over Joseph Morales (27-30, 30-27, 30-27). Two of the three judges gave Moreno every round. On the same main card, Alexa Grasso beat Manon Fiorot by unanimous decision (29-28 across the board), Curtis Blaydes outpointed Waldo Cortes Acosta the same way, and David Martinez stayed perfect in the UFC at 4-0 with a unanimous decision over Dan Ige (30-27, 30-27, 29-28), stretching his overall streak to 11.
The scrap of the night belonged to the featherweights in the middle of the card. Tommy McMillen and Marwan Rahiki earned Fight of the Night; McMillen survived a Round 2 scare and took the unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-27) to stay 12-0. The other Performance bonus went to debutant Sean King III, who slammed Jessie Rosas for a knockout at 0:36 and moved to 7-0.
