Regian “The Immortal” Eersel retained the ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Title on Friday, October 2, stopping George “G-Unit” Jarvis by knockout at 1:39 of round four in the main event of The Inner Circle 33 at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium.

The rematch streamed for subscribers at live.onefc.com in Asia primetime. Jarvis arrived with the memory of being stopped in just 84 seconds in their first meeting still fresh. Eersel, who had vowed the outcome would mirror that bout, opened with a sharp one-two and a flying knee.

Jarvis absorbed an early cut and answered with a massive left hook to the temple that put the defending champion on the canvas. Eersel survived to the bell. In the second round the Sityodtong Amsterdam affiliate worked leg kicks from the outside while Jarvis swung with heavier punches. Catching Jarvis with his guard low, Eersel dropped him with a pinpoint left hook to the chin — one knockdown apiece.

Neither man backed off in the third. Eersel, who also holds the ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Title, worked behind a steady jab and extended combinations as Jarvis fired hooks upstairs and to the body. The champion began targeting Jarvis’ swelling right eye with piercing straights.

Jarvis opened the fourth with his left cross while Eersel peppered him with head kicks. Reading fatigue, the Amsterdam-based star returned to the left hook that had already done damage, sending Jarvis down again. Jarvis immediately covered his right eye, and the referee halted the fight at 1:39 of round four.

The win extended Eersel’s ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Title defenses to four and moved his career record to 66-5. ONE called him the most successful titleholder in organization history — a 12-time World Champion across Muay Thai and kickboxing.
