Control Your Opponent With Knee on Belly
Knee on Belly or Knee Ride as it’s also known is a staple in modern competition Jiu Jitsu. Knee on belly is an excellent controlling position (more so in the gi than no-gi or MMA), great for setting up armbars and an excellent place to end up after sweeping an opponent as it takes away their opportunity to trap you in half guard if you try to go straight to mount. It’s an uncomfortable position for anyone on the bottom of it and this can lead them to make mistakes often giving up a far side armbar if they attempt to push your knee away.
